Description
A bookmark design from Laura Wolf showing the head and a feather from a Kakapo. Kākāpō are the largest species of parrot in the world and are a much loved endemic NZ bird.
Kākāpō are nocturnal and flightless, but while they were plentiful before humans came to NZ, their numbers have dropped drastically due to hunting, land clearance and introduced predators and they are now critically endangered.
This design is available as a PDF, a printed pattern or as a kit made by StitchNZ. The kit would include the pattern, bookmark Aida fabric, DMC threads, bobbins to store the threads on and a needle.
