Huia Bookmark

Description

A bookmark design from Laura Wolf showing  the head and a feather from a female Huia bird.  The Huia is an extinct species of New Zealand wattlebird. It was endemic to New Zealand’s North Island, last seen in 1907 although a possible sighting was made in 1924. The white tipped feathers were highly sought after by collectors which help to cause their extinction.
This design is available as a PDF, a printed pattern or as a kit made by StitchNZ. The kit would include the pattern, bookmark Aida fabric, DMC threads, bobbins to store the threads on and a needle.
